How to participate in the Bay Ridge Festival

To participate in the Bay Ridge Federation Festival Tampa Area event, these 5 criteria must be met.

1. The teacher must either be a member of a Senior Club or as an Individual.

2. The student(s) must either be a member of a Junior Club or as an Individual.

3. Deadline for teachers to be new members of a Senior club is October 1.

4. Deadline for students as new members for their Junior club is October 1.

5. Deadline for Tampa Area Festival application is December 1.

Membership steps to enter student(s) into Federation Festival.

1. Teacher must be a Senior member by doing ONE of the following:

a. Become a Senior Individual member for $50. To download the application click on Senior Individual Dues

OR

b. Become a Senior Club member of the Friday Morning Musicale Club. For information contact the FMM Senior Club President. 

 

2. Teacher’s students must be a Junior member by doing ONE of the following:

a. Register your club (a club of your own creation) with the Florida Federated Music Club. Complete the Junior Club Bill form. Fee: $50 for up to 16 students, $2 per each additional student over 16.

OR

b. Audition for the Junior Friday Morning Musicale Club on September 16 or November 11. Please contact Patricia Handly at patriciapiano@verizon.net or 813-240-1220 (call or text). Membership is $15.​

OR

c. Become a student Individual member for $13. To download the application, click on Junior Individual Dues or go to Florida Federation of Music Clubs- Membership Information

 

Entering the District Federation Festival.

1. Contact the local District Festival to get on the mailing list: bayridgefestivaltampa@gmail.com

2. Purchase the current National Federation Music Clubs Bulletin from their website: Order 2020 – 2024 Federation Festivals Bulletin – National Federation of Music Clubs

3. Decide on the events for your students.

4. Be sure the following Events match the Level conditions set in the Rules.

a. Concerto and Solo level

b. Sight Play equals Solo level (Sight Play must be entered with a Solo Event)

c. Ensembles partner levels must qualify.

5. Read and follow the Rules set to choose the piece(s) for each Event.

6. Complete the Application on Vivace by deadline December 1st.

 

Entering the Junior Convention (State competition in Tampa, FL in the month of May)

1. Students earning a Superior Rating at the District Festival are qualified (except Theory).

2. Students perform only the “Required” piece.

3. Entrance fees and application is at the State level.
