Dear Teachers,

Enclosed is the FINAL Piano and Voice schedule. There were a couple of adjustments, so please make sure to check your times.
We have allowed plenty of time for adjudication and students to enter/exit the audition rooms in your block schedules. Plan accordingly within your time frame.

Reminders (please refer to previous emails/website for details):

  • Download and print the VIVACE generated rating sheet. 2 copies for Solo/Concerto/Pat/Folk/Hymn, etc. 1 copy for Sight Play. No rating sheet needed for Theory.

  • Students must provide original music to the judges and clearly mark the measures.  Students will be disqualified if there is no music for the Judges.

  • Memorization rules can be found in the Bulletin on pg. 1.

  • Students should arrive 15 minutes early to their audition room.

  • Teachers and parents/family members are allowed inside the audition room, space permitting. Except sight play and theory rooms.

  • NO Video and Audio Recording is allowed, per Bulletin pg. 7. This is a cause for disqualification.

  • Theory will be offered every audition day in Room #107. Students may take the test before or after their playing audition. Last student will be admitted at 4pm, so plan accordingly.

  • FFMC Child Protection Form – Deadline February 1st, 2023 - All Judges, Volunteers, Workers, Accompanists and Teachers. Submit electronically by uploading to https://www.dropbox.com/request/o0QSXnGbuQsFkouXRxFj This form is mandatory by the FFMC.

  • Each teacher is required to volunteer for 2 hours in-person, find a responsible individual (high school age or adult) or choose to pay a fee to cover the cost of hiring outside help. All Festivals are run on volunteer work. Fees are: 1-10 events $75, 11-20 events $150, 21-30 events $225, 31+ events $300

Click on the link to sign up https://forms.gle/6pKtJQJKErrWDjVt9 Google form will be closed on January 20th to give us time to create a volunteer schedule.

Teachers who are asked to judge will have their volunteer requirement waived.

  • There are no refunds. If you have cancellations, please send an email with names and events as soon as possible, so that we have records for the final report.

Please be RESPECTFUL, PROFESSIONAL and FLEXIBLE. You, your colleagues, judges, students, parents, and volunteers have been working hard to create the most positive experience for our students. There may be unforeseen circumstances, difficulties or last minute changes. In case of any issues, please find a committee member who can solve the problem. Unprofessional behavior and altercations will not be tolerated and will result in removal from current or future festivals.

If you have any questions or concerns before the festival, use this email and a committee member will answer as soon as they can. Remember that we are ALL teachers, performers and family members with busy schedules.

Thanks.

BR Committee

Dear Teachers,

Here is the information for all teachers regarding the Bay Ridge Festival 2023 as well as the piano and voice schedule. Strings schedule will be available soon. Please look over the schedule and let us know ASAP if there are errors or concerns. Please be aware that the February 11th schedule is full, and no additions can be made.

Your times and rooms are scheduled based on your Vivace entries. Each teacher is assigned a block of time(s) and it is the teacher’s responsibility to arrange their students in the order they would like them to audition.

TEACHER REMINDERS

·       Download and print the VIVACE generated rating sheet. These are computer generated with individual bar code assigned to each student. No other rating sheets will be accepted.
Helpful Video: Vivace – Downloading a Student History | Downloading Rating Sheets - YouTube (around 4 min. mark)

Copyright permission and/or purchased receipt must accompany any printed computer-generated music. Not adhering to these Rules will result in a disqualification.

·       Please provide a list of students’ names and events. This will help the judges stay on schedule.
                                                     Example:         Cindy Lu E1
                                                                             Mark Jones P2

                                                                             John Lopez PP

If you have many students, you may want to assign more specific times for your students within your time block. This will eliminate extensive waiting and help with social distancing.

FFMC Child Protection Form – All Judges, Volunteers, Workers, Accompanists and Teachers. Submit electronically by uploading to https://www.dropbox.com/request/o0QSXnGbuQsFkouXRxFj

·       Teachers are not permitted to collect their own student’s rating sheets from the judges.

·       Rating Sheets pick-up – If you have filled out the form requesting the rating sheets to be picked up the day of the festival, you may do so at the Information Desk on 1st floor. Reminder that your rating sheets might not be available until the end of the audition day.

·       Parking: Parking at HCC is no longer free. There are multiple parking kiosks located around the campus to pay, or you can use a parking app on your phone. Bay Ridge Festival is not responsible for parking tickets.

·       NEW: VOLUNTEERING
Each teacher is required to volunteer for 2 hours in-person, find a responsible individual (high school age or adult) or choose to pay a fee to cover the cost of hiring outside help. Jobs include Info desk, selling books, floor monitors, theory grading, set-up and clean-up, etc. Please remember that all Festivals are run on volunteer work, and we would rather have manpower than collect fees.
Fees are: 1-10 events $75, 11-20 events $150, 21-30 events $225, 31+ events $300

Teachers who are asked to judge will have their volunteer requirement waived.
